I co-founded a photography business a few months ago and decided that it was time to figure out where to get our professional prints done at a reasonable cost and excellent quality. Many different companies came to mind, however, I felt that it would be a better solution to send photos out and have them printed for comparison. I have made a list of two different printing companies that I feel are fitting of our quality needs!
Mpix is a very efficient service which offers high quality photographs at a low price with reasonable shipping charges and excellent color quality. For these reasons, Mpix quickly jumped to the top of our list after we began receiving prints from them. Although the photographs looked a bit dark for our taste, we adjusted the color on our end and received the prints we were looking for with just minor tweaking in Photoshop. Now, I understand that many people just want to send their photographs out to have them printed without Photoshopping them and this is possible with Mpix. Mpix offers many different photo editing options for people who don’t have the knowledge or Photoshop and it is quite affordable. With Mpix, just upload your photos and get access to their different photo editing services. For just a few cents, Mpix will remove blemishes, braces, and other different facial details that you want to have removed. In addition, they will provide free color correction and offer free photo filters (black and white and sepia tone).
Another great feature is the packaging you receive from Mpix upon delivery. Mpix takes all precautions for your photographs by giving an excellent bundle of cardboard and shrink wrap to achieve highest safety from any shipment mishaps. Along with this and the shipping speed, we have decided to continue to use Mpix for further printing for our business. We feel that with the prices and the quality, our customers are getting the most out of their photographs.
Snapfish is the next company that we will continue to use for printing photographs. The color quality and image quality alone exceeds expectations and is just as good as Mpix in this department. Snapfish offers many custom photo gifts, like Mpix, however Snapfish offers a lot more than most companies. One area in which we were not very impressed with was the wallet prints from Snapfish. Snapfish printed four wallets on one 4×6 piece of paper and left them uncut. Not only was the cutting a difficult task, but the size of the photos was smaller than the standard wallet size photography. We have decided that we will not be using Snapfish for wallet prints in the future.
In comparison, both companies offer great things and that is why it is very important to choose a few different companies that offer things that the other does not. We look forward to continuing our business with Mpix, and seeing where we end up with Snapfish in the next few months.
