Aldi’s New Lacura Skin Care Line: Review

I am frugal in every area of life, but I believe in using quality products. In no area am I more careful than my body. I buy good quality food for the inside, and good quality products for the outside. Especially my face. No one is going to ask me for frugal advise if I look like a hormonal teenager. Besides, I just want to be pretty. When low prices and high quality combine into one product, I jump at the chance to try it out.

Lacura is the new face care line at Aldi retailing from $1.99-$4.99. After doing a little research on the product and reading this article from Yahoo News, I knew I had to try it.

From Yahoo news:
Lacura Q10 Anti-wrinkle Night Cream came out top in European quality tests alongside major brands such as L’Oreal, Olay and Helena Rubenstein. Meanwhile, in independent blind tests of 2,000 volunteers, Lacura Q10 Anti-wrinkle Day Cream was voted best for its powerful anti-aging effects. Once women in Britain read about it, they cleared ALDI’s shelves, buying more than 35,000 jars in just one day. Lacura also beats competitors on price with products retailing as much as 95 percent lower than big-name brands.”

A 95% savings? I’m all over that! Besides, I’m at Aldi every two weeks anyway, so it’s super convenient. So far I have only tried the Hydra Complete Cream with Sea Minerals. I have to be honest here, it works better than anything I have ever used. Ever. The smell is glorious, very natural and clean. As soon as the product touches your face, you can feel the hydrating power. It absorbs immediately with no greasy residue. All you feel on the surface is soft, clean skin. I’ve been using this product for about two months now, and have just barely made a dent in the product container. It will probably last me another 3-4 months. If you are doing the math, $4.99/6 months equals .83 a month for high quality moisturizer. To make things even better, I have had almost no acne during this time. The same face that always had a zit (or several!) to cover up, is now clean and clear, for about .83 a month!

The Lacura Skincare line includes lip care, toners, eye care, masks and more. Every product is under $5 and I plan on trying them all. Perhaps the most appealing thing about Lacura products is that they do not test on animals. A great product, amazing price, and no animal testing. They have won my loyalty.
