A First Nudist Experience

There are many misconceptions about nudists and what they are really about. Many people may have their own private assumptions about what goes on behind the fences of a nudist resort but how accurate are they really? Now you can find out by reading about one man’s actual first nudist resort experience and you can virtually share with me a visit to a nudist resort.

It was only a few months ago that I experienced my very first visit to a nudist resort and my introduction to nude recreation. After deciding that social nudity was something I wanted to try and to explore, I was eager to visit a resort but understandably a little nervous about it too. I collected the towels and other items that were suggested on the resort’s web site and then I was on the road around 12:30 p.m. About an hour later I reached the resort, Bluebonnet Naturists Park. As the gates came into view, while still feeling nervous, I was also committed. Stopping my car I took a couple of deep breaths and then pushed the intercom button.

I purposely chose a weekday for my first visit specifically because the owner of resort had told me that the crowds usually came on weekends. As my initial foray into the nudist lifestyle, I wanted to try it on my own terms without the distraction of lots of other people. If it turned out that it was something I found appealing, I could always try a weekend visit later. After identifying myself over the intercom, the steel gates swung slowly open welcoming me to proceed. Driving through the gates, I soon arrived at the Welcome Center.

After getting out of my car I was immediately greeted by the owner. I admit I was somewhat surprised that he was dressed in a bathrobe as I suppose I was expecting that the staff would be naked based on what I had read about the “first visits” of others. It was however still a bit cool out when I arrived since it was still early March. The owner ushered me into his office and spent more than an hour just talking with me after I arrived. He told me about the history of the resort and explained the amenities that were available for my use. I felt he was trying to help me feel at ease but also couldn’t help feeling that he was at the same time sort of “checking” me out to make certain I was a stand up kind of guy.

After concluding his presentation, he copied my driver’s license, briefed me on the resort rules and had me complete some brief paperwork to officially check-in. After taking care of the financial end of my visit, he then escorted me on a tour of the facilities beginning with the clubhouse. After arriving there, he encouraged me to remove my clothes and he removed his as well, I think to make me feel more comfortable. I complied and actually didn’t really feel weird about it at all since he and I were alone. I was actually amazed by how nice and well equipped the clubhouse was. There was a spacious dining room, dance floor, big screen television with satellite service, a Nintendo Wii setup, a game room, a sun room with lots of comfortable seating and a fully equipped commercial type kitchen. Adjacent was a pool area, with two pools, spacious sun decks with lots of loungers and chairs, a large hot tub and a sauna. Across the street there were tennis courts and a volley ball pit. Everything was very clean and well kept and the grounds were well maintained with lots of nice landscaping in evidence.

After the tour the owner invited me to explore on my own and to choose my camp site since I had planned to camp overnight. Some nudist resorts are luxurious but those in my area are more on the rustic side and such was the case with Bluebonnet. After walking around a bit in the bright sunshine, completely nude and getting my bearings, I set up my tent and then went for a short hike on the nature trails. By early afternoon the weather conditions were near perfect for experiencing my first outdoor nudity adventure. It was actually quite amazing how nice the sun and the breeze felt on my skin, every inch of it. I was more than a little surprised with how quickly I became comfortable being outdoors completely nude. While there wasn’t a crowd present, there were a good number of permanent residents at the resort and so I did encounter other people from time to time, some clothed and some naked. Without exception everyone was cordial and friendly and didn’t even seem to notice I was naked. As a result I didn’t feel uncomfortable in the least.

As my first day ended and after an afternoon spent exploring the resort and amenities I prepared dinner, ate and then was ready to turn in for the night. Following a restful night I awakened the following morning to weather a bit too chilly for being nude and I threw on a fleece jacket and a pair of sweat pants while I prepared my breakfast and morning coffee. By 10:30 a.m. it had warmed up nicely and once again the conditions were comfortable for going clothes free. During the morning I took a nude 2 mile jog around the resort roads and then I sunbathed beside the pool until lunch time. After lunch I showered and then enjoyed a dip in the hot tub. The hot tub was fabulous even though it wasn’t technically my first hot tub experience while nude. Later I did a little more hiking on the nature trails and then grabbed a book and spent some more time lounging by the pool enjoying the sun. By 4:00 p.m. I was starting to feel the effects of the sun, especially on those areas that usually never saw the sun and decided I better get packed up and headed home. I took down my tent, loaded my things and then it was time to get dressed for the drive home. I was struck by just how much I really hated the idea of having to get dressed again after having spent so many hours being nude. Finally I forced myself to put on a polo shirt and pair of shorts which actually felt pretty uncomfortable.

The visit in hindsight was really nothing less than a fabulous first experience and it had been such a relaxing and pleasant time. I had finally felt the freedom and naturalness that I had been reading about while researching nudism. It was such a nice feeling walking about outdoors wearing nothing but smile and sunscreen. Overall, I’d say my first nudist experience was perfect and I was more than a little amazed at how quickly I felt comfortable in that new environment. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and knew I would be visiting Bluebonnet or one of the other local resorts in my area again very soon.
