Sun Chips Harvest Cheddar Review

Sun Chips Harvest Cheddar has a generous sprinkling of cheddar seasoning on the wavy, crispy and hearty chips. It’s a great healthy after-school snack.

Be prepared for everyone in the house to know you are snacking on the Sun Chips harvest cheddar since they are packaged in a 100 percent compostable chip package that makes a loud, noticeable sound when you touch it! Who cares if the Sun Chips bag is loud when it helps the environment!

As a person who likes to compost for my flower gardens, I love the fact Sun Chips have gone green. It’s pretty exciting to be able to compost a chip package!

Here are some things to know about the Sun Chips Harvest Cheddar chips I learned from my review:

No. 1 Sun Chips Harvest Cheddar is made by Frito Lay based in Plano, Texas. It contains 30 percent less fat than regular potato chips.

No.2: Sun Chips Harvest Cheddar ingredients: Whole corn, sunflower oil, whole wheat, whole oat flour, rice flour, harvest cheddar seasoning, onion powder, corn oil, yeast extract, wheat gluten, artificial color, sugar, corn bran and other ingredients. The Sun Chips Harvest Cheddar is not gluten free or dairy free.

No. 3: Sun Chips Harvest Cheddar nutrition: One serving contains six grams of fat, 200 mg sodium, 3 grams of fiber, 2 grams of sugar and 19 g total carbohydrate. The nutrition facts make it a great healthy after-school snack or lunch box treat for kids.

No. 4: Sun Chips Harvest Cheddar calories: One serving which is about 15 chips contains 140 calories.

No. 5: Sun Chips Harvest Cheddar biodegradable bag. The Sun Chips bag uses 90 percent renewable, plant-based materials. Although results may vary, the Sun Chips biodegradable bag is expected to turn into compost in 13 weeks.

In terms of being suitable for dieters, I think they are fine for people who are not on a low-sugar or low carb diet. Even though they contain 3 grams of fiber, they are still so irresistibly delicious, especially when you are in the moody for something with crunch and a cheesy flavor, it may be hard to stick to 15 chips.

For dieters, I recommend putting a portion in a container and taking them with you hiking, to work or on a trip so you aren’t tempted by the entire bag!

Sun Chips also come in garden salsa, French onion, peppercorn ranch and original.

I give Sun Chips Harvest Cheddar a five out of five for taste but only 3.5 out of 5 for nutrition due to the use of artificial colors. Finally, your kids might enjoy helping to turn the Sun Chips biodegradable package into compost in your yard!
