My 4 Favorite Detroit Strip Joints

Detroit, Michigan has some excellent strip joints. Despite its reputation as a dangerous and desolate downtown, Detroit even has some great strip joints in the middle of the city as well as in the outer suburbs.

The following are my four favorite strip joints in the Detroit area.

Penthouse Club

20771 West 8 Mile Road

Detroit, Michigan

As part of a nationally recognized brand name and image, the Penthouse Club brings to the gritty and working class city of Detroit a bit, or maybe a lot, of big time glitz and glamour. The setting at the Penthouse Club in Detroit is breathtaking, and that’s before you even see the strippers. Cheesy, perhaps? Maybe to some, but this is a big time and popular strip joint with the Penthouse brand and blessing and it’s a grand, loud and almost Vegas type of setting.

One of the advantages that the Penthouse Club strip joints have is that they can rotate strippers from club to club, and, also, have the scale to attract the very best in terms of entertainment, food and liquor. The Penthouse Club in Detroit is no exception to that.

With a long wine, liquor and champagne list, along with no shortage of variety in non-alcoholic energy drinks, the Penthouse Club is an excellent choice for client entertainment or even for a couple looking for a fantasy themed night out.

On that front, the food menu at the Penthouse Club is second to none when it comes to stip joints in Detroit or anywhere for that matter. With a wide range of fine steaks and seafood entrees, there is something for everybody (try the shrimp and crab alfredo) and some excellent appetizers.

The bottom line with any strip joint is, well, the strippers. And as mentioned above, the Penthouse Club in Detroit is able to attract and rotate the hottest strippers in the business. They are real pros and will give you a great time. As with most all Penthouse Clubs, there are ample table dancing areas, VIP and Champagne rooms for your enjoyment. Depending on your budget, you can have the ultimate strip joint experience in this preeminent Detroit strip joint.

Trumpps

21413 West 8 Mile Road

Detroit, Michigan

I was wary of this strip joint as what appears to be a strategically added “p” in the name of it implies that perhaps it is deceiving in other ways. Well, my doubts were put to rest as soon as I entered this strip joint. This is a fun place, with an attention to detail, very hot strippers and a lot of well thought out events and promotions. Trumpps has amateurs’ contests, stripper ‘boxing’ matches, tequila specials on Thursdays and Beach Party Fridays.

I found the stripper themselves to actually be funny. I mean, really funny and sexy at the same time; a rare combination to pull off when you first ‘meet’ somebody, but they somehow manage to do so.

Real Detroit Magazine readers voted Trumpps to be the best Detroit strip joint for two years straight and while I’m always a bit leery of how objective those types of contests are, I certainly see their point. It is definitely one of the best.

Chix on Dix

403 South Dix Avenue

Dearborn, Michigan

I’m sure I’m not the first person to have looked twice at the name of this Detroit area strip joint and have to make sure I understood exactly what it said. It’s a clever play on words, given its location (on Dix Street) and the reverse (?) double entendre that it suggests.

The strip joint itself is laid back but well done. The menu is not quite like a fine steakhouse, but the food is good. The strippers at times look more like the girl next door than a professional stripper (and I mean that in a good way).

This is a fun strip joint in suburban Detroit, with low cover charges and unique events like the “Chixy Shower Show” on Wednesdays. This is a great place for client entertainment and is very couples friendly.

Flight Club

29709 Michigan Ave

Inkster, Michigan

The Flight Club is actually about twenty minutes outside of downtown Detroit, near the airport, and clearly caters to out of town businessmen as well as locals. As you might guess from the name, the Flight Club is an airplane themed strip joint (the first strip joint I have ever been in with an aviation motif).

It’s a fun and sexy place, with a very good layout, perfect for public table dances as well as private VIP and Champagne room oriented pleasure. The Flight Club offers great wine, beer and cigars as well as very solid food.

This is well worth the trip from downtown and certainly if you are traveling in or out of Detroit’s airport.
