A couple of days ago, I stopped at a Hartford, Connecticut KFC restaurant to purchase a large container of their delicious cole slaw. I think that KFC’s cole slaw is the best in the fast food universe and I was purchasing some to serve with some sloppy Joe’s at home. While at the KFC restaurant, I also ordered a KFC Snacker with Crispy Strip sandwich.
I was quite impressed with this sandwich and I think that it would be a good item to review. Presented here, as a service to the consumer at large, is one food writer’s product review of the Snacker chicken sandwich sold at KFC restaurants.
Size This sandwich is really not very big, but it is also not too small. The one that I ate a couple of days ago was roughly four inches long, with a good sized strip of crispy chicken being the centerpiece.
When I first saw the KFC Snacker with Crispy Strip sandwich, I thought that it looked pretty small. After eating the sandwich however, I think its size is quite acceptable. This tasty chicken sandwich was just big enough to satisfy my appetite, when accompanied by a small container of the world’s greatest cole slaw, KFC cole slaw.
Price The regular price charged for one KFC Snacker sandwich at Hartford, Connecticut KFC restaurants is approximately $1.29. I definitely think that this price is reasonable. Although other fast food restaurants offer chicken sandwiches for only $1, I think that the flavor and overall high quality of the KFC Snacker sets it apart from the others.
Texture There are several different, pleasing textures offered in the KFC Snacker sandwich. The sesame bun is soft and warm, yet holds the sandwich together well. The chicken strip is quite crispy, yet not over cooked, the shaved lettuce tops the sandwich gracefully and adds a little crunchy freshness to the affair. The sauce was minimal on my sandwich, but it added a little bit of moistness to the item.
Nutritional Facts KFC Snacker with Crispy Strip sandwich contains 290 calories, with 100 calories from fat, per one 122 gram sandwich serving. Taste / Flavor This really is a tasty little chicken sandwich. The piece of chicken strip maintains the world famous, juicy KFC flavor, the fresh, shaved lettuce adds garden freshness and the sauce tastes like a nicely seasoned mayo. The warm, seeded sesame bun on which the sandwich sits offers a mellow and pleasing flavor. All put together, these flavor components create a delicious item that is very satisfying.
Packaging The KFC Snacker with Crispy Strip sandwich that I purchased and ate earlier this week was packaged in a large piece of printed deli paper. The paper was folded and the sandwich was served in a brown paper bag, along with a napkin.
Overall Rating This chicken sandwich might not be the biggest one out there, but it sure does taste good. Available at KFC restaurants everywhere, this tasty, reasonably priced sandwich is highly recommended by this food writer.
