Handwritingworksheets.com – Great for Handwriting “Brush Up” Sheets

If you have kids that are just learning how to print letters or perhaps you have older children learning how to write cursive, then “The amazing handwriting worksheet maker” on handwritingworksheets.com http://www.handwritingworksheets.com/index.htm
is the site for you!

This site offers practice sheets in “basic print”, “D’Nealian Style”, and “Cursive” writing and in all three of these styles you can also choose “dot trace”, “dash trace” or “separated letters” in two different sizes, large and medium for your practice sheets. After you have chosen your style of practice sheet (we liked dash trace for beginning printing practice) http://www.handwritingworksheets.com/index.htm , you will be taken to a page which simply put, Is the “handwriting worksheet maker”.
On this page you will see an area in which to place the words you wish to print for practice. I suggest leaving 2 spaces between words to give your writer plenty of room, but as you work with the site you will no doubt find what works best for you and your child.

We have used this site for many years, utilizing it for not only beginning writing but for spelling words as well. Writing out each weeks spelling words on 2 to 3 sheets and then copying them as many times as needed, cuts prep time drastically and leaves more time to help your child in other areas, time you would not have had, had you handwritten each word for your child yourself. And kids love the idea that they can create sheets with their name, family, friends and playmates names…even those of their teachers!

I highly recommend this site for those who are looking for a quick, easy way to help their child’s writing skills develop. While each page is limited in the number of words it will hold, it is a lifesaver when it comes to showing proper letter formation and a lot of fun when you think of all the words your child can learn using this site. I routinely took the spelling list of the week each Monday and printed it out using these pages. That not only was a guarantee he would see the words daily, but that writing the words would allow him handwriting practice as well. Give it a look and see what fun creating your own handwriting worksheets can be…..and a hint, I used to print these up and take them when we went out to eat. They were a great way to have my son practice and keep occupied until the food arrived at our table and a no pain way for him to practice his spelling words and writing as well. It’s a fantastic site and a real help for parents and fun for kids too!
