I live in central IL. Today the are $3.27 a gallon. I received an e-mail today about gas prices from around the world. I was amazed to find out that Saudi Arabia has gas at 45 cents a gallon. To verify the e-mail I received, I did a Webcrawler search. CNN and USToday also report the same gas prices from around the globe. Here are gas prices from around the world:
The people of the United Kingdom pay $8.37 per gallon. I am guessing they are not compassionate with our outrage at the gas price increase.
Nor do I think we will receive sympathy from people in the Netherlands who pay $6.48 per gallon. Unfortuneately, I don’t think the people in the following cities around the world will be offering sympathy cards anytime soon either:
Copenhagen, Denmark $6.08 per gallon,
Milan, Italy $5.96 per gallon,
Hong Kong $5.62per gallon,
Frankfurt, Germany $5.29 per gallon,
Stockholm, Sweden $5.80 per gallon,
Stavanger, Norway $5.07 per gallon,
Rome, Italy $4.86 per gallon,
Seoul, Korea $4.71 per gallon,
Geneva, Switzerland$4.56 per gallon,
Vienna, Austria $4.50 per gallon,
Prague, Czech Republic $4.19 per gallon, or
Tokyo, Japan $3.84 per gallon.
Havana, Cuba is only $3.03 a gallon. However, I won’t be expecting sympathy from their country anytime soon!
However, perhaps our friends in these countries will send us their condolences:
Sydney, Australia $2.63 per gallon,
Johannesburg, South Africa $2.62 per gallon,
Taipei, Taiwan $2.47 per gallon,
If I lived closer to the Mexican border, I would probably want to run to the border and cross over to Mexico. I wouldn’t be running to the border for Mexican food (sorry, Taco Bell!). Instead, I would want to take my vehicle and fill up in Mexico for $2.38 per gallon!
If I had a boat that would transport my car, I would fill up in these cities:
Panama City, Panama $2.19 per gallon,
Nigeria $1.92 per gallon,
The countries below likely have no concept of what it is like to have high or rising gas prices. Therefore, I will not be asking them for sympathy. Imagine paying $1.60 a gallon or less?! From now on, I am guessing this will only happen in my dreams! Here are some of the world’s lowest prices for gas:
Bangkok, Thailand $1.60 per gallon,
Tianjin, China $1.54 per gallon,
Moscow, Russia $1.45 per gallon,
Almaty, Kazakhstan $1.36 per gallon,
Baku, Azerbaijan $1.15 per gallon,
These prices are so low, it makes me want to travel to these countries and fill up! I wonder how well my car would float? Here are some countries with outrageously low gas prices:
Kuwait 91 cents a gallon,
Saudi Arabia 45 cents a gallon,
and Caracas, Venezula 14 cents a gallon!
So the next time you are looking to save money on gas, you will no where to fill up!
