Footprints Cafe in Lawrenceville, Georgia

I was invited to lunch at the Footprints Café in Lawrenceville, Georgia and I must say it was a wonderful experience. When you drive up to the Footprints café, you’ll see a large building at the far end at the corner of the strip mall with a blue awing on a stucco structure. From the outside, it appears to be just another Café. However, once you step inside the Footprints Café, you will feel as though you just entered a 5 star restaurant. There is a rather large section of beautifully crafted leather seating at the front entrance that welcomes you to come right in and stay for a while.

There are lovely silver and glass pendent lighting that hangs over the rather impressive bar that’s flanked by two large flat screen televisions and two waterfall features right in the middle. The floors are made of what appears to be highly polished concrete and right at the entrance there is the name Footprints Café engraved in the floor with the little symbol of the footprints. Also, on the walls near the ceiling you’ll see little footprints etched all over the establishment. I thought to myself, if the atmosphere is any indication of the service and menu than I can’t wait to see more.

The hostess greeted us and led us to our seats which consisted of one of the many large comfortable booths that filled the restaurant. We were soon greeted by our server who was dressed in a black uniform that looked professional as well as elegant. We were then handed the most beautiful menu that I have ever seen. It looked like a piece of art with hues of blue, green, black and copper. Once I opened the menu, I was pleased to see that I could order from the lunch menu or the dinner menu. I decided to order a salad to start. The salad was a Caribbean salad that included avocados, mango, cucumber, red peppers, carrots and pineapple with fresh field greens. The ranch and italitan dressing only ehanced the flavors.

The entrée we selected was the Jerk Chicken Breast with beans and rice. Can you say yum! The chicken was tender, juicy and filled with great jerk sauce that was the right blend of spice and flavor. The beans and rice were done perfectly and had great flavor as well. The menu has so much to choose from and offers favorites such as honey garlic wings which are fried crispy and then tossed with honey garlic sauce, cod fish cakes , Rasta pasta which is penne pasta cooked in a creamy sauce with fresh basil, garlic and parmesan and king fish just to name of few. It doesn’t matter what you are craving, you’ll find it at the Footprints Café!

Once we finished our lunch, we turned our attention to the dessert menu and decided on the key lime cheese cake and red velvet cake. I have never tasted a key lime cheese cake that had so much flavor and the red velvet was moist and creamy. I washed down my dessert with some very flavorful ginger beer that just made my taste buds dance!

The Footprints Café not only serves wonderful Caribbean food and has a beautiful décor, but they have a section in the rear of the restaurant that is all about entertainment. They have a very large stage that is surrounded by stones with beautiful hard woods and splashes of red, purple and black colors behind the stage as well as over the massive bar area. I would call this a super club. This area has an upper level that houses one of the most impressive sound systems that I have seen in a club atmosphere and will certainly keep the party going on all night. Currently The Footprint Café is planning Open Mic nights and special concerts, so stay tuned for more information. The Footprints Café is located at 706 Grayson Highway, Lawrenceville, Georgia 30046.
