Fall Festivals in Bayfield, Wisconsin: Lighthouses, Apples, Islands and Scarecrows

Bayfield, Wisconsin is a delightful vacation destination in northern Wisconsin on the shores of Lake Superior. Bayfield Apple Festival,
October 5-7
The Bayfield Apple Festival, in Wisconsin will be held October 5-7, 2007. The popular festival is listed among the “Top Ten Autumn Festivals in North America” by the Society of Travel writers. Bayfield’s festival attracts more than 60,000 annual visitors to the small picturesque town on the hillside overlooking the Apostle Islands. Over 45 orchards and food booths sell apples , apple desserts and delicacies from Bayfield. Visitors to Bayfield will be able to enjoy treats such as caramel apples, apple pies, apple tortes, apple dumpling, apple tarts, apple sundaes, apple cider, and bushels of apples.

The festival will feature carnival rides, “Best of the Big Top”, Bayfield Carnegie Library Book Sale, Apostle Islands Cruise, Scavenger Hunt, Maritime Museum, Bayfield Firemen’s Fish Boil, Live Entertainment, Pony rides, Venetian Boat Parade, and much more. Children will love the carnival with games and rides.. The Venetian Boat Parade will light up the shore on Saturday evening. On Sunday the Grand Parade will feature the 500 member Mass Band as it marches in red uniforms to the tune of “On Wisconsin” Arts and crafts will feature the works of more than 150 vendor, so you can show for souvenirs and gifts.

Scarecrow Festival & Orchard Tour
September 15 – October 31.
Fall festival features the beauty of the fall colors and the bountiful harvest. More that 100 scarecrows are placed throughout the city of Bayfield and the orchards. Bayfield presents the spectacular fall colors in the small historic village on the shores of Lake Superior. There plenty for the family to do. Find scarecrows, pick apples, go an a hayride, ride a pony, visit a winery walk in a field maze, dance at a barn dance, scavenger hung, take a ghost waling tour and more.
