Are your preschoolers captivated by the heroic antics of Ming-Ming, Linny and Tuck? Do they long to join them in the Flyboat for a day of rescuing animals? If so, you may want to think about planning a “Wonder Pets” themed party this year. Should you do decide to go that route, here’s a quick look at a few party favors worth considering:
DVDs
Do you really want to make an impression on your party guests and their parents? Well then, you may want to consider investing in a few “Wonder Pets” DVDs. They are surprising inexpensive and would definitely be a keepsake item that the kids would use. Some of the DVDs sell for as little as $5 apiece through video related retailers and specialty shops. Low-cost titles to look for include “Wonder Pets Save the Dinosaur” and “Wonder Pets Save the Unicorn.”
Wonder Pets” Beanie Babies are another relatively inexpensive and noteworthy party favor. After all, what preschooler wouldn’t be overjoyed at receiving a replica of Linny, Tuck or Ming to play with? The toys are 6 inches tall and tend to sell for $6 to $8 apiece through assorted retailers.
Cookies
Are you a whiz-bang in the kitchen? If so, why not make your party guests a few “Wonder Pets” cookies. Although you will be hard-pressed to find authentic “Wonder Pets” cookie cutters, with a bit of creativity the task can be completed with ease. That’s because there are companies that sell guinea pig, duckling and turtle cookie cutters for around $3 each. Most of them will produce a shape that may be transformed into images of the series’ beloved characters with the aid of colored icing and a steady hand.
Slide Flutes
It is no secret that most preschoolers like to make noise, and lots of it. Therefore, “Wonder Pets” Slide Flutes would make great party favors as well. The flutes are made of plastic and feature each of the series’ main characters. You can usually purchase a four pack of the flutes through major department stores and party supplies for $7.
Books
Last but not least, I’d suggest giving each of your guests a “Wonder Pets” book. Prices for the books will vary greatly. As such, it pays to shop around. Personally, I have seen some “Wonder Pets” books retailing for $4 to $5 each through major book sellers. You may also want to consider stopping by the Nick Jr. website and downloading a few “Wonder Pets” Book Plates. That way, you can easily customize each of the books with a party guest’s name and use them as place cards too.
