The holidays are fastly approaching and once again it’s time to start decorating! If you are in the Jacksonville, Florida area, here are my top five places to shop for gorgeous and affordable holiday decor.
(1) The Christmas Store at Splash
This is one holiday decor shop you may miss if you are not familiar with the Jacksonville area during the Fall. You see, Splash is a pool and spa store, but who is in the market for a pool, tanning bed, patio furniture, or spa in the winter? Since the cooler months mean lower business for such a store, from October through December it converts its floor space into a holiday decor shop.
At The Christmas Store at Splash shoppers can expect to see artificial and pre-lit Christmas trees, lights, wreaths, ornaments, garland, and ribbons for sale at low, affordable prices. Buyers will also find neat gifts to purchase and give as Christmas presents.
The Christmas Store at Splash is located at 8030 Phillips Highway, North of Baymeadows. It is open Monday through Friday 10am until 6pm, 9:30am until 5:30pm on Saturdays, and from 1pm until 5pm on Sundays.
(2) Christmas Made in the South
Christmas Made in the South is an event being hosted at the Prime Osborn Convention Center in Jacksonville November 23, 24, and 25th. Hundreds of artists and craftsmen gather and display their holiday items in this event which is traveling through eight southern cities this year including Jacksonville.
Each exhibitor has hand-made their items, so shoppers are sure to be buying unique, creative decorations that are one of a kind. Typical items for sale at this event are pottery, blown glass, personalized ornaments, outdoor decorations, and jewelry. If you are looking for holiday decor that will set you way apart from the rest of your neighbors this year, Christmas Made in the South is where you will find them! Even if you are shopping for presents, Christmas Made in the South is sure to have something for everyone on your list.
The Prime Osborn Convention Center is located at 1000 Water Street. Fridays hours are 9am until 6pm, Saturday 10am until 6pm, and Sunday 11am until 5pm. There is an admission charge, but if you get your hand stamped, your admission is good for all three days of the event. The price for adults is $6 and free for children 12 and under.
(3) The Pottery Barn
The Pottery Barn has released their Holiday Decorating Guide for 2007. This year the store is offering lots of new decorations that will add elegance and spirit to your home. Here you can find anything from red sofas to candy-cane-striped sheets and pillows and velvet stockings you can personalize. The Pottery Barn has a garlands made of bay leafs, seashells, magnolia and grapevines. One of my favorite pieces is their aluminum stick figure reindeer that would look wonderful on a table or mantle. Lit snowflakes, card holders, tree skirts, glass ornaments, and candle holders are more items featured at Pottery Barn during holiday decorating.
The Pottery Barn of Jacksonville is located at the Avenues on 10300 Southside Boulevard.
(4) Christmas Shop on the River
Christmas Shop on the River is a favorite store of mine to visit when we are in the Jacksonville area. This particular store is actually a few miles north of the city, in historic Fernandina Beach. The Christmas Shop on the River has some of everything and has beautiful displays of Christmas decorations and gift ideas. Each time I go in the store I always leave with something new! They have ornaments, Santas, and other such holiday collectibles available for purchase all year long!

(5) Annabelle’s Christmas Shoppe
Annabelle’s Christmas Shoppe is a holiday store which is also open year-round. The green building is full of many trees, lights, wreaths, and stockings. The items at this holiday store specifically include NFL, children’s, character, and 1sts ornaments, colorful trees, wreaths of all different vines and leaves, as well as gift items. Annabelle’s has reasonably priced holiday decorations to make each room in your house a different Christmas theme.
