2010 has not yet ended but the pop songs released this year are definitely memorable and worthy of being this list. Some of these songs are pop songs I really like while others played a lot but didn’t necessarily tickle my fancy. Regardless of whether I liked them or not here are the top pop songs of 2010.
Love The Way You Lie – Eminem featuring Rihanna
Love The Way You Lie is a top pop song that has been playing on the radio incessantly. It is a song about a couple who is addicted to the passion, violence, and drama associated with a dysfunctional relationship. The reason this song is so eerie isn’t just because of Rihanna’s sultry hook, it is because both Eminem and Rihanna have both been in abusive relationships.
Tik Tok – Ke$ha
Tik Tok is another pop song that was very popular in 2010. It is sang by Ke$ha a blonde singer that is known for being drunk, trashy, and rowdy. She sings mostly about partying and having fun.
Airplanes – B.O.B featuring Haley from the band Paramore
Airplanes was one of the top pop songs of 2010 because Haley’s voice is beautiful. It also was a unique mix because Haley’s band Paramore normally performs rock music. Haley lended her voice to B.O.B’s song to add some pizazz to it. They both performed the song at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards.
Just The Way You Are – Bruno Mars
Bruno Mars is a romantic at heart. In the pop song Just The Way You Are he sings about his girlfriend being perfect just the way she is and that she shouldn’t change a thing about herself. It is definitely one of the most romantic pop songs of 2010.
Need You Now – Lady Antebellum
Technically Need You Now is a top country song but it made its way onto plenty of pop radio stations. The song talks about a couple longing for each other.
California Girls – Katy Perry
California Girls is considered to be one of the best summer songs. Personally I don’t like it but it is catchy. It talks about having fun at the beach and the lifestyle of being a California girl.
Telephone – Lady Gaga featuring Beyonce
The pop video for Telephone is very entertaining. This song is fun to dance to and has a catchy hook. It is one of the best pop songs of 2010.
Alejandro – Lady Gaga
Alejandro pays homage to Madonna’s song La Isla Bonita. Both pop songs have a romantic tropical feel to them.
Sexy Chick – David Guetta featuring Akon
David Guetta is a DJ famous for his upbeat techno. The songs beat is energetic and lively.
Not Afraid – Eminem
Not Afraid is a deep song about Eminem overcoming his issues with drugs and addiction. It’s one of his best songs to date. The rapper is more happy and optimistic in this song as opposed to his other songs that normally bash and hate on others.
