Preschool Crafts for Mother’s Day Gifts

If you have a grand child or even a friend’s child whom you want to help create a gift for their mom on Mother’s Day, here are a few ideas for preschool children. As you know, if you are a mom and you receive something from your little one it can’t be any better. No matter how sloppy or how unique it is you’ll cherish this art until the end. I think home made crafts from little children are the best ideas for gifts for any parent or grandparent. Here are a few suggestions you can consider making with your little ones for their mom on Mother’s Day.

Mother’s Day Card: Of course you can purchase a wonderful Mother’s Day card in the store but the meaning won’t be the same as a home made one. All you need is construction paper, markers, crayons, stickers, and even some glue and sparkles. Fold the construction paper in half and write a little message on the inside. You may need to help the preschooler spell a few words but in the end no matter what it says, it will be great. Next let them design the outside of the card with markers, glue and sparkles. They’ll have fun doing this even if they don’t understand what they are doing it for. Let the card sit and dry. Make sure before you hand the card to the mom, the date of when the card was made is marked somewhere on it just for memories.

Another great idea for children to make something on Mother’s Day is a picture frame. You can actually purchase a plain frame at the dollar store or any other you like. Get some crafty décor like paints, glue, string, sparkles/glitter, and you can even find little wooden pieces with decorations on them. This is a wonderful idea for a little one to make for their mother. After the frame is decorated and dried, flip it over and add a piece of looped string with some glue to the back. This will let the mom hang it up. If you want to make it a little easier purchase magnetic tape and place a piece on the back of the frame so she can put it on the fridge. Also try to find a recent picture of the child and mother to place in the frame for him/her to give to their mom on Mother’s Day.

And another craft you can make for Mother’s Day is making a flower pot. This is an easy project since you can purchase any color pot you’d like and decorate it the way you want. Make sure you have some craft paint, brushes, markers and glitter. You can write on there Happy Mother’s Day MOM with the date on the bottom so when you look back, you’ll remember when you made it. Then you can create a unique design on the flower pot with the paints and glitter. No matter what the design is or how messy the pot looks it will always be a memory!!!
