Finding and buying vintage travel trailers can be a challenging prospect. Many of these old time favorites have fallen into disrepair or given way to age and weather. Sometimes the best places to find these beauties are from businesses who do restoration work on vintage travel trailers.
Vintage travel trailers have many looks and styles. The most striking, and probably the most remembered, is the shiny aluminum skinned trailers.
Fletcher Trailer Sales of Trumansburg, NY is one such company for purchasing vintage travel trailers. Fletcher’s is a second generation family owned business that began in 1963. The trailers here are offered in un-restored condition. They do not offer full restoration services, but will take on small jobs and general service work. The price range of the offerings available at the time of this article was from $900 to $5000. There were four vintage travel trailers available, but the gallery showed photos of previously sold trailers.
Vintage Trailer Crazy, located in Temecula, California sells restored vintage travel trailers. Prices were highly variable depending on the style and type of trailer. Anywhere from $10,000 to over $20,000. Selection was fairly large for the nature of the product. Four pages worth of travel trailers for sale. There were also photo galleries of finished projects and ongoing projects.
Vintage Campers in Peru, Indiana has very reasonable pricing on their vintage travel trailers. Nothing currently on the site is over $6,000 and they have just under twenty trailers available for sale. The old camper ads on their site are very interesting, a must see.
Bisbee, Arizona is home to Toozigoot Vintage Trailercoach Restoration. This full service company specializes in restoring, refurbishing, remodeling, modernizing and transporting vintage trailers. They only had one actual trailer for sale at the time of publication, $3900 for a 1967 Boles Aero.
Sierra Trailer Restoration is also located in California. Nevada City is where you can find this restoration business. Not much information was available online that pertained to pricing and they had no vintage travel trailers for sale, though there were some photos of some one-of-a-kind trailers with interesting looks.
Southern California located Mel Trailer, specialized in vintage trailer restoration. They have been in business over twenty years. They are happy to work on any trailer that you can get to their location in Orange, California. There are a few photos of restoration projects, but not many. Most of their photos can be accessed to an offsite link to Flickr. There is a form that you can submit for quotes on restoration work.
Birchwood Beauties is also located in Northern California. They have vintage travel trailers for sale as is or to be restored. Price ranges were from $2,000 to $22,000 depending on the condition and level of restoration of the trailer. Lots of photos for each vintage travel trailer they have for sale.
Iowa Boys has vintage and used travel trailers. I didn’t like the feel of their site as much as some of the others. It seemed less organized and harder to find what I wanted.
