Essence Cosmetics Now Available in the U.S.

That’s right, Europe’s favorite cosmetic brand, Essence, has finally made its way across the ocean and landed in the good ole’ U.S. of A. For those of you in the U.S. who’ve never heard of this brand prior to its U.S. debut, Essence is a cosmetic brand that offers affordable but quality makeup. This brand prides itself on keeping up with the latest trend in makeup, and providing its customers with quality products that would fit even the tightest budget.

Essence cosmetics is part of the Cosnova beauty company which used to be Cosma GmbH. Cosma GmbH was founded by Christina Oster-Daum in July of 2001, and Essence was launched in February 2002 in Germany. In July of 2004 Cosma became Cosnova, and the rest is history. Early this spring Essence made its American debut at ULTA Beauty stores across the country.

Essence cosmetics offers a variety of products for your beauty needs, and they do so without testing on animals. They have a great range of eyeshadows, whether you’re looking for neutral or bright colors, singles or quads. They even have baked makeup. Their mascara selection is about as vast as their eye shadows. They also offer mousse foundation, bronzers, mosaic powder, bronzing pearls, nail art, makeup brushes, mineral makeup and much more. The best part is that Essence prides itself on offering all these different types of products to their customers for a low price. Their products range from 99 cents to $5, at least the ones that are currently available at ULTA.

Currently Essence cosmetic products are only available at ULTA stores, and although Essence has a website that list many of their products they do not offer online shopping. The selection that is offered at ULTA is limited to most of their main line and their Fashionista line. Some products that you can expect to find at ULTA are mascaras, lip glosses, eyeshadows, brightly colored nail polishes, face powders and blushes. Over time maybe Essence will make more of their products available in the states.

Essence also has a trend edition line which consist of a variety of products ranging from makeup to nail and skin care. The trend edition of Essence takes trendy colors and themes of the moment, and converts them into makeup and beauty products. Each one of Essence’s trend edition line has a different theme. In November of 2009 there was even an Essence Moonlight collection that highlighted the hype that revolved around the movie release of the Twilight sequel, New Moon. Unfortunately this line was only available in Europe.

Essence cosmetics at face value may look like they’re targeting teens but they do offer products that are suitable for adult women as well. So if you’re ever in ULTA check out Essence cosmetics, the prices are inexpensive but the quality may surprise you.
