Do it Yourself Wedding Invitations

When planning a wedding there are a lot of things that you can do to cut costs. One of those is to make your own wedding invitations. DIY wedding invitations can be somewhat simple to create, can look very professional and elegant, and most importantly can save you a bit of money. A very simple way to go with this project is a wedding invitation kit. These kits can be purchased with cars for as few as 50 guests or as many as 150 guests. The great thing about this is that if you have a computer and printer you can make the invitations.

There are many different kits available on the market. If you go to Google and type in DIY wedding invitation kits a multitude of results will come up. Some are a bit expensive while others are quite affordable. When you consider the alternative, having your cards professionally done, the price doesn’t look so bad.

Two kits I found in my searches were the Silver Do It Yourself Wedding Invitation Kit available at www.buyweddingfavorsonline.com and the DIY White Invitations & Accessories Kit at www.allforyourwedding.com.

If you can’t find what you are looking for on Google then head over to eBay.com and check out their DIY wedding invitation kits. You might even be able to get a better deal and a few more options.

If a DIY invitation kit isn’t for you and you want something that will save you a bit more money than you can use a standard greeting card program to create what you want. This option might require you to be a bit more computer savvy, but should pay off in the end. Other than your greeting card software you will need to purchase some white card envelopes, and a form of white or ivory parchment paper. Once you have your supplies just open up the greeting card program and work from there. You can do a multitude of things depending on your knowledge of the program and creativity.

No matter what option you choose for your wedding invitation you should not feel ashamed that you are going to these lengths to save a bit of money. You should feel proud of yourself that you are a consumer savvy bride or groom. No one needs to start off their marriage in debt from a large and expensive wedding. Most people are going to throw your wedding invitation away in the end so why should you drop a lot of cash on something that is going to windup in the trash?
