Clarks Wallabees Shoes – Review

I like to consider myself a fashion-plate. I like to have all of the trendiest fashions and accessories before anyone else. I’ve even termed a new word for myself fashionisto. When it comes to shoes I am what you call an expert. I have one 60 pairs of all styles and all fashions. But out of all my shoes my favorite pair are my Clarks Wallabees.

I purchased my first pair of Clarks Wallabees all the way back in 1999. I was a freshman about to start my first semester of high school. I kept seeing Clarks Wallabees everywhere I went. I had to have a pair of my own. I went to the local shoe store and could not find anywhere that had the Wallabees. After much searching I was able to find the almost mythical shoe.

I’ve had my Clarks Wallabees almost eight years and the first thing I have to say is that they look brand new. They look as if they just came out of the back eight years later. That should say something very important about the shoe. They are very durable. Although the shoe looks like it would be flimsy and not very durable they have held up almost perfectly. At the time I was almost fifteen years old so you can imagine the wear and tear I put those shoes through.

Besides their trendy appearance what also drove me to my Clarks Wallabees was the comfort the shoes provided. I have a ton of shoes but my Clarks Wallabees are the most comfortable shoes I own. I currently do a lot of walking through Manhattan on a very regular basis and the Clarks Wallabees are incredibly comfortable.

In 2003 I was exposed to a shocking phenomenon; in Scotland they had exclusive colors of Clarks Wallabees. In the United States it was hard enough just finding the black suede Wallabees but over there they had sand, brown, brown suede, black leather and an off-white version of the shoe. I am still upset I did not purchase the off-white Wallabees because I have never seen them again.

The Clarks Wallabees have been out since the 1960’s and still remain relevant to this day. Rappers such as Wu-Tang Clan members Method Man and Ghostface Killah frequently mention their Clarks Wallabees. This year Clarks announced a partnership with hip hop group the Beastie Boys to be spokespeople for their classic shoe. I am an aspiring music artist and in the first song I ever recorded I mentioned my Clarks Wallabees.

Overall run don’t walk to the store and buy yourself a pair of Clarks Wallabees. I give Clarks Wallabees 10 out of 10 for incredible comfort and their increased trend appeal through the years.
