Best 5 Games on Xbox Kinect 2010

A lot of people took the chance and bought a Kinect for the Xbox 360, but unfortunately Microsoft forgot to deliver the goods with a lack of killer titles at launch and the masses noticed.

Even though most of the Kinect titles to date are ho-hum there are a few worth mentioning that rival any games on any platform in their respective categories. Below is a list of 5 Kinect games that will definitely change the way you play games and are fun worthy titles of your hard earned money.

1. Your Shape: Fitness Evolved – If you’re New Year’s resolution is to workout more, trust me, buy a Kinect and Your Shape: Fitness Evolved, what could be better than staying in shape while playing a video game? It’s like eating chocolate to lose weight. Even if you already exercise a few times a week, Your Shape: Fitness Evolved incorporates a lot of different exercises, cardio, strength, conditioning and is a great new way to burn calories.

2. Kinect Sports – This title got a lot of heat at first for only having two real mini games worth playing, but I think folks out there are finally coming around to this super fun for the entire family video game that gets the heart racing. Ping Pong, Bowling, Track and Field events and Boxing are better than any Wii game I have ever played, and will keep any child busy and moving for hours.

3. Kinect Adventures – Even though it came with most Kinect systems, this game is very fun and very satisfying, especially for families and children. The first night my nieces and nephews played it, we melted the inner ring on the disc because we played for so many consecutive hours. Kinect Adventures is a bit repetitive but being able to play online really makes this a worthy title and the fact that the activity games really make you move, who knew video games could be so good for you.

4. Dance Central – Not my type of game but my girlfriend loves it and so do a lot of kids. I will say Kinect recognizes the body movements in this game really well, and tracked movements fairly accurately. If you have a child that loves to dance or you like to dance yourself this is a great way to have some fun, bust some moves and burn some calories.

5. Kinectimals – Again not another title I would buy for anyone over the age of 13 but a fun game none the less. Kids love this game, to have a magical pretend pet that actually responds to their actions and crazy babble is most likely mind-blowing for children under five. Your kids will definitely get your money’s worth on this game; I haven’t seen a child or woman not fall in love with some of these Kinectimals upon first glance, the cute factor on this game is sky high.
